  • Develop, implement, and manage the site Mechanical Integrity Program for critical assets and protective systems.
  • Maintain mechanical and civil engineering standards in accordance with regulatory requirements, applicable codes, RAGAGEP, and company engineering standards.
  • Maintain documentation and records for coded pressure vessels and other regulated equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance for equipment repairs, modifications, and designs to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and applicable engineering standards.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for regulatory matters involving equipment design, mechanical integrity, and applicable codes.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the site's list of critical assets and protective systems.
  • Develop and maintain inspection strategies and inspection intervals for critical equipment and protective systems.
  • Review inspection results, evaluate equipment condition, and implement recommendations to improve asset integrity and reliability.
  • Develop asset maintenance programs and procedures designed to maintain or improve equipment condition and performance.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs associated with mechanical integrity.
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment failures, identify recurring reliability issues, and develop equipment-specific maintenance strategies and design improvements.
  • Support and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities related to equipment failures and operational issues.
  • Conduct annual reviews of asset condition and support development of long-term asset life plans.
  • Provide technical expertise related to piping, pressure vessels, tanks, mechanical equipment, and applicable damage mechanisms and inspection methods.
  • Ensure Process Safety Management requirements are incorporated into mechanical integrity activities and equipment-management practices.
  • Promote strong process and behavioral safety practices and compliance with established life-saving rules.
  • Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards and develop sustainable corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering and other technical functions on troubleshooting, process improvements, and reliability initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably within a chemical, petrochemical, refining, or other PSM-regulated process manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of experience in mechanical integrity, reliability engineering, inspection, or a related technical role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and mechanical integrity requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of RAGAGEP and applicable chemical industry engineering codes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of damage mechanisms affecting plant equipment, including piping, pressure vessels, tanks, and related mechanical systems.
  • Ability to select appropriate inspection methods, evaluate equipment degradation and failure mechanisms, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Experience applying mechanical integrity and engineering standards to improve safety, asset reliability, and equipment performance.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience with CMMS/EAM systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience with inspection data management systems (IDMS); PCMS experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to provide technical leadership across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and SHE without direct supervisory authority.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership, ownership, analytical thinking, and ability to execute effectively in an operating plant environment.
