About the Role
The Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) is seeking an experienced React Developer (SME) with 6–10 years of experience in enterprise-level development projects. The developer will be a key member of the DevOps team implementing a new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS).
As a React SME, you will design, develop, and maintain customized solutions using React. This includes coding, unit testing, application builds, troubleshooting, and ensuring technical excellence aligned with industry best practices.
This position requires participation in meetings during standard business hours: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM EST. Occasional in-person meetings may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, unit test, and build React applications.
- Participate in requirement-gathering sessions with clients to understand complex business needs.
- Create functional requirements and design documentation for customizations.
- Provide accurate level-of-effort estimates for implementation tasks.
- Review proposed implementations and recommend efficient design approaches.
- Collaborate with Delivery Architects, Technical Leads, and developers to ensure secure and efficient solutions.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Provide clear written and oral communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of SME/Developer experience in enterprise-level projects.
- 4 years of strong React development experience.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Next.js.
- Experience with Node.js.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into functional solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of TypeScript.
- Experience with cloud hosting (Azure or AWS).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience across multiple industries.
Education / Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
