Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Art Separator to join our creative production team. This role is responsible for preparing, managing, and delivering high-quality separations and neck label files for our licensed apparel programs. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of screen printing, separation techniques, and communication with overseas contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver color separations and neck label files for production.
- Correspond with overseas contractors to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Manage and track incoming jobs, ship dates, and contractor status.
- Gather artwork and assign jobs to separators based on workflow.
- Output films for sampling and contractor use; check print quality and registration.
- Create, update, and archive neck label and separation files for licensed properties.
- Post designs for sampling and prepro reviews.
- Troubleshoot and make separation or color corrections as needed for production jobs.
- Approve production jobs on press and provide guidance for art or color adjustments.
- Maintain organization of art archives and separation libraries for future use.
- Create website and sales images for internal and client presentations.
- Monitor film printers — change film, ensure quality output, and maintain supplies.
- Coordinate and send out art jobs for special requests or rush orders.
- Communicate job status and updates to the office and sales team.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Strong understanding of complex screen separations and screen-printing production methods.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
- Prior experience in apparel production, color separation, or prepress preferred.
