Role Description The Color Separator is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This role focuses on preparing, separating, and optimizing colors for print production on apparel, ensuring that designs translate accurately from digital artwork to final garments. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing artwork for color usage, applying color theory and color matching techniques, creating and adjusting color separations for screen or digital printing, and collaborating closely with the art, production, and licensing teams. The Color Separator will review samples, troubleshoot color issues, and maintain consistency across multiple styles and collections. The role also involves clear communication with internal stakeholders, adherence to brand and licensing guidelines, and meeting deadlines in a high-volume production environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Color Theory and Color Matching, with the ability to translate digital color into accurate print results.
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to collaborate effectively with design, production, and licensing teams and respond to internal stakeholder needs.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and separation tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and print separation software).
- Experience in apparel printing, screen printing, or licensed product production is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and commitment to meeting production deadlines.
- Ability to work on-site in New York, NY and function effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Relevant education or training in graphic design, print production, or a related field is preferred.
