Role Description The Sourcing and Production Director will oversee end-to-end apparel production, from vendor selection and capacity planning to on-time delivery and quality compliance.
· Sourcing new factories in different countries for manufacturing opportunities to place orders for various mid-tier and mass merchant retailers.
· Negotiate and finalize pricing and assign orders to factories/countries factoring in quality, reliability, production space, delivery and price.
· Cross function with Design, Product Development, and sales to develop product, ensure correct execution of products and attain profitable margin
· Manage the entire supply chain process to source, negotiate with overseas vendors, and book from order placements to shipment.
Qualifications
- Strong production planning and production management skills to coordinate calendars, capacity, and delivery timelines.
- Expertise in quality management and manufacturing to ensure product consistency, compliance, and efficient factory operations.
- Ability to apply strategic planning to sourcing, vendor portfolio management, and long-term production roadmap development.
- Extensive experience in the apparel industry, including cut-and-sew processes, fabric and trim sourcing, and global supply chains.
- Proven vendor negotiation and relationship management skills, with experience working with overseas factories and agents.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, including proficiency with production tracking tools and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities to guide cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
