About The Role
The Business Analyst / Intake Coordinator supports Mortgage Technology initiatives by serving as the primary intake point for system enhancement requests and operational improvements. This role gathers and documents business requirements, prepares Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), and coordinates User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure projects move efficiently from request through delivery.
This position works closely with business stakeholders, product leadership, development teams, and application support to ensure requests are clearly defined and implemented successfully.
Success in this role is defined by ensuring technology requests are clearly defined, properly documented, and efficiently coordinated so development work progresses smoothly from intake through implementation.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

- Observable display of a sense of urgency in the execution of duties
- Request Intake (PERF Managment)
- Serve as the central intake point for system enhancement requests (PERFs).
- Review incoming requests and ensure sufficient information and business context are provided
- Coordinate with stakeholders to clarify scope, objectives, and expected outcomes
- Organize and track requests entering the development log.
- Business Requirements Documentation
- Gather detailed business requirements from stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and user stories.
- Work with the Product & Delivery Manager to prepare items for prioritization and sprint planning.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities with business stakeholders.
- Develop testing scenarios based on documented requirements.
- Track UAT progress, results, and issue resolution.
- Ensure enhancements meet business expectations prior to release.
- Cross-Team Coordination
- Work closely with the Product & Delivery Manager and development team to ensure requirements are clearly understood.
- Facilitate communication between business users and technology teams.
- Assist in maintaining visibility into request status and implementation timelines.
- Regular on-site attendance or as needed attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 2–5 years of experience in business analysis, operations, or project coordination.
- Strong ability to gather and document business requirements.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating testing or system implementations.
- Experience in mortgage or similar lending services.
- Experience with Encompass Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and mortgage workflows.
- Familiarity with project tracking tools such as JIRA or similar platforms.
- Effective business writing, time management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle detailed assignments
- Ability to prioritize workload while meeting deadlines
- Ability to communicate in writing and verbally effectively
