Description
- Analyze loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Non-QM guidelines.
- Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and the viability of loan transactions, assessing factors such as income, assets, and property valuations.
- Collaborate with loan officers, account managers, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies and provide clear underwriting decisions.
- Prepare detailed underwriting summaries and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the underwriting process.
- Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging Non-QM products.
- Assist in developing and refining underwriting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to borrowers, lenders, and other partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience, with a strong focus on Non-QM loans.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in MLM (Meridian Link) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
