The Role
QuoteWell is seeking a commercial insurance underwriter to join our team and help shape the next phase of our growth. We’re looking for a dynamic leader who understands the industry’s challenges and is motivated to build smarter, more innovative solutions. What you’ll do
- Drive growth. Bring in new business and expand our carrier footprint through smart, strategic appointments and strong producer relationships.
- Own outcomes. Navigate the quote-bind-issue lifecycle from start to finish, ensuring fast, accurate turnaround on every deal.
- Operate like an owner. Build and evolve QuoteWell’s wholesale capabilities, especially within binding authority lines, driving efficiency and scale as we grow.
- Work across teams. Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to design and implement tools that make underwriting in surplus lines smoother and smarter.
What you’ll need
- 3 years of experience in a wholesale underwriting or production role, with a strong record of success in E&S.
- Active home state general and surplus lines licenses
- Producer mindset. You know how to sell, build relationships, and close deals.
- Fast-paced execution. You thrive in a high-volume environment and can generate quotes and service policies at speed without sacrificing quality.
- Clear communicator. You write crisply, speak clearly, and can adapt your tone to agents, carriers, and teammates.
- Organized and accountable. You juggle multiple priorities, track every detail, and don’t drop the ball.
- Problem-solver. When something breaks, you figure it out. When something’s missing, you build it.
- Team-first attitude. You roll up your sleeves, help your teammates, and celebrate shared wins.
- A valid driver’s license and openness to occasional travel.
Location
This is a remote position. Preference will be given to candidates located in CA, UT, NV, AZ, and CO, or those who currently support or manage accounts in this region.
