About This Opportunity
ChampionPEO is assisting Ventimiglia Italian Foods with the recruitment and initial screening process for this position. Qualified applicants will participate in a brief virtual interview with ChampionPEO before being presented to Ventimiglia Italian Foods for final interviews and hiring decisions.
Position Summary
This is primarily a kitchen production position (approximately 95% of the role) with occasional assistance at the prepared food counter. No advanced culinary experience is required. We are looking for someone with an outstanding work ethic, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-focused kitchen.

Schedule
- Approximately 30 hours per week
- Regular daytime schedule
- Monday
- Thursday
- Saturday
- Sunday
- Approximately 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Consistent weekly schedule (changes are rare and generally limited to vacations or emergencies)
Compensation & Benefits

What You'll Do
Every day follows a structured production schedule designed to keep our kitchen operating efficiently.
Morning Production
- Prepare and stock the freshly prepared food display
- Assemble salads and prepared foods according to company recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain exceptional attention to cleanliness and detail
High-Volume Food Preparation
- Chop vegetables
- Peel and prepare large quantities of potatoes, onions, carrots, and other produce.
- Assist with scratch food preparation throughout the day
- Handle physically demanding production tasks safely and efficiently
Production Cooking
- Prepare chicken and vegetables following established recipes
- Monitor cooking times and product quality
- Maintain consistency across all prepared foods
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Work efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Support the kitchen team throughout the day
Customer Interaction
Although this is primarily a kitchen production position, you'll occasionally assist customers at the prepared food counter by greeting guests, answering basic questions, and providing friendly service when needed.

Preferred Qualifications
No previous culinary experience is required.
However, experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Commercial kitchens
- Food preparation
- Grocery prepared foods
- Delis
- Restaurants
- Food manufacturing
- Customer service
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Repetitive chopping, slicing, and food preparation
- Work in refrigerated and warm kitchen environments
- Maintain a fast pace throughout the shift
