The Senior Recreation Leader plays a hands-on role in delivering fun, engaging, and safe recreation programs for adults and seniors in our community. This position supports daily program operations, helps lead activities and outings, and builds positive relationships with participants—making a real difference in their quality of life.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, organizing, and leading recreation programs, activities, and special events for adults and seniors
- Provide direct supervision to participants during programs and outings to ensure safety and enjoyment
- Support daily program operations, including setup, cleanup, and proper use of equipment and supplies
- Accurately record attendance and maintain participation records
- Assist with program registration and participant communication
- Transport participants to trips and activities in accordance with Park District driving policies
- Monitor facilities and equipment for safety concerns and report issues promptly
- Enforce Park District policies and safety procedures consistently
- Complete accident, incident, and other required reports accurately and on time
- Maintain positive, respectful relationships with participants, staff, and the public
- Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding program needs and participant concerns
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience planning or leading recreation activities for adults or seniors preferred
- Strong communication skills with participants, staff, and the public (verbal and written)
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
