- Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills.
- Assist with implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans.
- Help supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned times.
- Assist with preparing instructional materials and maintaining an organized classroom environment.
- Support students' social-emotional development while fostering positive relationships.
- Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs as assigned.
- Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.
