Paraprofessional - Lincoln Trail

Description: Lincoln Trail Elementary is accepting applications for a Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with certified staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal support that helps students achieve academic and social success.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills.
• Assist with implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans.
• Help supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned times.
• Assist with preparing instructional materials and maintaining an organized classroom environment.
• Support students' social-emotional development while fostering positive relationships.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs as assigned.
• Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.

NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we are currently negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
