- Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts and classroom learning.
- Assist with implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans as directed.
- Encourage student independence while providing appropriate academic and organizational support.
- Supervise students during instructional activities, study halls, transitions, lunch, and other assigned duties.
- Prepare instructional materials and assist with maintaining an organized learning environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.
- Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs, as assigned.
- Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.
