Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Site Location: All Agency Sites
Supervised By: Facilities and Fleet Manager
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000 annually

Position Summary
Challenge Enterprises of North Florida is seeking an experienced and dependable Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep, repair, and safe operation of all agency facilities and properties. This position performs hands-on maintenance duties while supervising and coordinating the daily activities of maintenance technicians.
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the Facilities Project Manager to ensure maintenance requests, preventative maintenance activities, and repair projects are completed efficiently, safely, and according to organizational standards.
This role requires strong technical knowledge of facility maintenance systems including carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC support, and the safe use of hand and power tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Facilities Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform general maintenance and repair work across all Challenge Enterprises facilities and properties.
- Complete assigned maintenance work orders including repairs related to carpentry, drywall, painting, lighting, ceiling tiles, flooring, and other facility components.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities including HVAC filter replacement, lighting repairs, equipment inspections, and routine facility upkeep.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify repair needs, maintenance issues, and safety hazards.
- Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Assist with landscaping, grounds maintenance, and facility cleanliness when required.
- Maintain organized storage areas for maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
Staff Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate daily work assignments for maintenance technicians.
- Monitor work progress to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to organizational standards.
- Provide guidance, instruction, and support to technicians performing maintenance tasks.
- Assist with training and mentoring new maintenance employees.
- Ensure staff follow safety procedures, maintenance standards, and agency policies.
Timekeeping & Administrative Oversight
- Review and verify technician timekeeping and attendance records to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor staff schedules and assist with coordinating work coverage for facility needs.
- Maintain documentation related to maintenance requests, completed repairs, and assigned tasks.
- Communicate staffing or operational concerns to the Facilities Project Manager.
Facilities Operations Support
- Work closely with the Facilities Project Manager to coordinate maintenance tasks, projects, and facility improvements.
- Coordinate with management to obtain tools, materials, and supplies needed to complete maintenance tasks and projects.
- Maintain and inspect safety devices including fire extinguishers, equipment guards, and other safety equipment.
- Ensure agency vehicles, maintenance tools, and equipment are used safely and maintained properly.
Work Environment & Operational Requirements
- Perform work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
- Operate agency vehicles when required for maintenance tasks or transporting materials.
- Be available for on-call emergency situations, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Work scheduled assignments until tasks are completed.
- Overtime must be pre-approved by the Facilities Project Manager.
Additional Duties
- Follow all Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding maintenance needs, facility concerns, and safety issues.
- Perform additional maintenance or operational duties as assigned by management.
- Support the Facilities Project Manager with coordinating facility repair projects and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certifications or trade training preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance and some fleet repair work.
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, HVAC support, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Must be quality-minded in all assigned tasks.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Must pass a Level II background screening.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean 3-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to twist, stoop, bend, reach, pull, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods of up to 6 hours per day.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies including security issues, facility concerns, or vehicle breakdowns.
