Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic High School Student to join our team as an Assistant Gymnastics Coach. This position is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in coaching gymnastics while supporting our instructors and helping to create a positive and engaging environment for our students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist coaches in leading gymnastics classes for individuals of all ages and skill levels, focusing on proper technique and skill progression.
- Help set up and organize equipment for classes and events, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for participants.
- Provide encouragement and support to students during classes, helping to reinforce proper form and spotting when necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as checking in students, answering phones, and responding to emails.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop coaching skills and knowledge of gymnastics techniques and terminology.
- Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating respect, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with other staff members to brainstorm ideas for class activities, events, and promotions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the smooth operation of the gymnastics program.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in high school with a strong interest in gymnastics, fitness, or coaching.
- Enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and backgrounds, with a desire to learn and grow as a coach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, parents, and staff members.
- Willingness to take direction and follow instructions from coaches and supervisors.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to a consistent schedule of classes and events.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
- Genuine passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
