Job Description:
The Strategic Engineering Project Manager will lead, manage, and support specific large-scale capital improvements and special projects for the organization’s overall operating platform. The role will be responsible for total project management to include setting up of cross functional team meetings, management of timelines, Gantt charts, action lists, financial reports, and overall executive summaries. This position will coordinate between all functions of the company to ensure successful project execution and completion.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage complex cross functional projects related to new production, capital investments and cost savings opportunities.
- Manage Individual Project Dashboard to include Gantt Charts, Action Lists, Financial Summaries.
- Schedule weekly and monthly reviews to manage timelines and completion activity.
- Communicate with Operations team on any delays, costs adjustments or impacts to current projects.
- Manage project schedule, scope, budget and quality via project management skills.
- Oversee external vendors/contractors to ensure safety standards are met or exceeded throughout project lifecycle.
- Clearly and consistently communicate between project team members, Operations team and vendors/contractors.
- Work with Director of Engineering to provide additional support for engineering projects throughout the organization.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering, or associated field.
- PMP Certification or applicable real project management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of significant experience in a technical field with a project engineering background.
- Experience with AutoCAD required.
- Proven experience with ammonia processes.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
- In-depth knowledge of food processing plant and technology, or similar industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for food safety and equipment.
- Strong project management skills – able to lead multiple projects and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
- Ability to run project management software to include Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or others.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics and outcomes.
- Skill in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate technical knowledge/expertise to team members.
Will be expected to perform other related duties and assignments as requested.
