The Para Professional supports students during daily transitions such as restroom breaks, class changes, and appointments while assisting in behavior management using approved non-violent techniques. This role also provides support to teachers by helping with classroom instruction, supervising activities, maintaining a clean and safe learning environment, and recording student behavior.
Key Responsibilities – Para Pro
- Supervise and assist students during daily transitions (restroom breaks, class changes, appointments).
- Support classroom teachers with instruction, activities, and student engagement.
- Maintain a safe , clean , and organized classroom environment.
- Record and monitor student behaviors using daily behavior sheets.
- Participate in weekly meetings with supervisors to review student progress and plans .
- Follow all emergency procedures and safety protocols .
- Maintain professionalism and positive interactions with students, staff, and community members.
- Attend scheduled trainings, meetings , and required refresher courses .
- Protect the confidentiality of student and agency information.
