VP of Finance, North America – Hybrid with 30–50% Travel

A rapidly scaling global organization is seeking a dynamic VP of Finance for North America to establish and lead all regional financial operations. This is the first finance leadership hire dedicated to North America, offering the unique opportunity to build the function from the ground up while partnering closely with global leadership during a period of transformational growth.

Position Overview

The VP of Finance will oversee all financial strategy, planning, reporting, and operational execution for North America. This leader will initially operate in a hands‑on capacity—owning core financial processes—while simultaneously designing the foundation for a scalable, high‑performing finance organization. As the company continues its aggressive growth trajectory through both acquisitions and organic expansion, this role will be pivotal in shaping financial infrastructure, integration capability, and long‑term regional financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior financial leader for North America, responsible for establishing all regional finance capabilities.
  • Build, scale, and oversee the North American finance team as the business expands.
  • Develop financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management processes tailored to a multi‑entity, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Own hands‑on execution of key financial operations in the early stages, including reporting, analysis, and internal controls.
  • Partner closely with global finance to align processes, systems, reporting structures, and compliance standards.
  • Lead financial integration of acquired entities, including due diligence support, onboarding, systems alignment, and post‑acquisition optimization.
  • Develop scalable financial systems, policies, and operational workflows appropriate for a fast‑growth organization.
  • Provide executive‑level business partnership to North American leadership teams across operations, sales, HR, supply chain, and corporate functions.
  • Support capital allocation decisions, investment analysis, and long‑range planning.
  • Represent finance for North America in global strategic planning and senior leadership forums.
  • Travel 30–50% throughout the region as needed for leadership meetings, acquisition integration, operational support, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA strongly preferred).
  • 12 years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years at the executive level.
  • Experience in high‑growth, multi‑entity, or multinational environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven success building or scaling finance teams, infrastructures, and systems.
  • Strong background in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and operational finance.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or multi‑site financial operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an environment that requires both strategic leadership and hands‑on execution.
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30–50% across North America.

Work Environment & Structure

  • Hybrid role with flexibility and expected regional travel.
  • High‑growth, high‑visibility environment with direct access to global leadership.
  • Opportunity to build a finance function from the ground up and influence long‑term regional strategy.

Compensation

  • Competitive executive‑level compensation package including base salary, bonus, and long‑term incentive potential.
  • Comprehensive benefits, leadership development opportunities, and the ability to shape the finance function during a major growth phase.
