Staff Accountant - Hybrid

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Compensation: $59,000-$69,000 DOE

My client is looking for a Staff Accountant to serve as a key partner to join their growing Property Development Team by owning the accounting and financial reporting for active projects from pre-development through closeout. This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys digging into details, understanding how projects are built financially, and turning data into clear, actionable insights.

Your Day To Day

• Take ownership of project-level general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the proper period
• Prepare and analyze monthly project financials, highlighting variances, trends, and items that require further discussion
• Partner with development and operations teams to understand project activity and resolve accounting questions
• Perform budget vs. actual analysis and provide clear explanations for changes in costs and timing
• Support month-end close by preparing accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Track project costs, commitments, and funding sources to ensure alignment with budgets and financing structures
• Assist with construction draws, pay applications, and lender reporting requirements
  
  

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a must
• 2 years of Full Cycle Accounting Experience
• Comfortable working in Excel and building / maintaining schedules
• Real Estate or Construction environments is a plus
