Key Responsibilities For Senior Buyer
- Prepare requests for quotes and proposals based on plant and production requirements.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and perform cost analyses to determine best overall value across price, delivery, quality, and capability.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times in alignment with operational goals.
- Issue purchase orders in support of production, operations, and inventory needs.
- Maintain accurate purchase order details, including pricing, account coding, and vendor delivery commitments.
- Monitor invoices on hold and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and suppliers.
- Collaborate with the Receiving department to reconcile shipment documentation.
- Work cross‑functionally with Operations, Shipping, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Accounts Payable, Facilities, and other departments to resolve procurement‑related issues efficiently.
- Frequently engage on the shop floor to develop deep understanding of plant operations and material needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience.
- At least 2 years of experience within Procurement, Supply Chain, or Finance.
- Willingness to regularly visit the production floor as part of daily responsibilities.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
