Primary Duties
- Review and approve work completed by Accounting Specialists, including:
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable batches
- Manual batches and journal entries
- Cash receipts and monthly credit card activity
- Monthly excise tax filings
- Complete monthly cash reconciliations and support timely month-end close.
- Serve as back-up reviewer for Accounting Assistant tasks and Board-related reports.
- Provide payroll support twice monthly:
- Payroll review and meetings with Finance & HR
- PERS analysis and reporting
- Support annual budget development and upload.
- Lead year-end close activities:
- Close-and-roll for multiple entities
- Prepare or review annual financial statements
- Support W-2 and 1099 filing processes
- Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible accounting experience, ideally within the public or nonprofit sector.
- Strong grasp of payroll systems and public retirement plans (e.g., PERS).
- Solid background in budgeting, reconciliations, and the production of year-end financial reports.
- Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with cross-departmental teams such as HR and operations.
- High level of precision, analytical thinking, and professional communication.
