Our client is a global transportation and logistics organization with over 30 regional branches in the U.S. and Canada. The Senior Accountant will be expected to aid in the transformational change expected of this organization due to its continual and rapid growth.

The Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

The Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Maintain the general ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of significant account fluctuations.
- Lead key aspects of the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, intercompany accounts, and other general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Analyze financial data and variances, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve accuracy, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, and payroll-related accounting activities as needed.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory and tax requirements.
- Participate in process improvements, system implementations, and special projects to enhance financial reporting and departmental effectiveness.
- Perform other related duties and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required
- Three to five years of accounting experience required.
- Public accounting background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and U.S. GAAP.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial matters and recommend effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external business partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn and use accounting and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of month-end and year-end close processes and internal control practices.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support changes that enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
