Key Responsibilities Of The Payroll Specialist
- Process weekly payroll (primary payroll run on Mondays) across multiple states (CT, MA, NY)
- Manage full-cycle payroll, including data entry, auditing, and processing
- Prepare and post payroll journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Partner closely with HR on employee changes, compliance, and payroll-related matters
- Handle a mix of:
- Hourly and salaried employees
- Commission-based compensation for a sales team
- Union payroll (light complexity)
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Support areas related to FMLA and payroll compliance
- 3 years of payroll experience, including weekly payroll processing
- Experience with multi-state payroll
- Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
- Exposure to union payroll is a plus (not required)
- Understanding of payroll accounting (journal entries, reconciliations)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred or applicable years of experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly accountable
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced but supportive environment
- Enjoys working closely with both HR and finance teams

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
