Accounting Clerk (Part-Time)

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Pay: $21 - $24/hour

Schedule: 20–30 hours per week | Flexible schedule (ideal hours Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

Work Environment: Primarily onsite (office hours 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; first day starts at 8:30 AM)

A small, family-oriented distributor in the Grand Rapids area is seeking a Part-Time Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day accounting and office operations. This organization offers a laid-back environment with a collaborative team. The office maintains a business casual dress code (jeans on Fridays) and enjoys occasional team happy hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices (20–30 per day) with a strong focus on accurate data entry and matching purchase orders to vendor invoices.
• Support accounts receivable by entering sales orders, generating customer invoices, recording incoming payments, and assisting with biweekly customer statements.
• Assist with check runs (primarily Fridays) and record check and ACH payments received through daily mail and email.
• Answer and route incoming phone calls, take messages, and occasionally greet customers.
• Order office supplies as needed and assist with general office support tasks.
• Provide occasional backup support for shipping, including helping prepare packages when needed.
  
  

Qualifications

Required

• 1–2 years of accounting experience (AP, AR, or heavy accounting-related data entry)
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working in accounting systems
• Tech-savvy and able to learn new systems quickly
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with Zoho, Shopify, or eBay platforms
