Lead Technical Accounting Analyst

Location: Downtown Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid: Tues/Wed/Thurs onsite)

Salary: $125,000–$145,000 15% bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Technical Accounting Analyst to serve as a key resource for complex and emerging accounting matters. This highly visible role focuses on accurate GAAP financial reporting for a regulated environment, supporting SEC filings, evaluating new or unusual transactions, and leading implementation of upcoming accounting standards.

You will partner closely with Finance, External Reporting, and operational teams to ensure proper accounting treatment and clear communication of impacts. This position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and opportunities for career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex transactions for proper GAAP treatment
• Support 10-K and 10-Q filings with technical analysis and documentation
• Research and implement new accounting standards (e.g., Disaggregation of Expenses, Environmental Credits)
• Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, Treasury, and operational teams
• Communicate technical conclusions and financial impacts to leadership and auditors
• Lead or participate in cross-functional projects focused on new standards and emerging business initiatives
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred)
• 8 years of accounting or financial reporting experience

• Deep knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with SEC reporting for public companies
• Experience applying technical accounting guidance to new or complex transactions
