What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fixed Asset Accountant position at CFS?
Fixed Asset Accountant – Hybrid
Location: Lakewood, CO.
Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, onsite 3x per week
We’re looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant who enjoys bringing order to complexity, partnering with project teams, and keeping a business running smoothly behind the scenes. If you’re a Fixed Asset Accountant who takes pride in accuracy, likes understanding the “why” behind the numbers, and thrives in environments where no two days look exactly the same, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Be Doing
This Fixed Asset Accountant role plays a major part in our monthly close process and the lifecycle of our capital assets.
We’re looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant with strong hands-on experience in asset depreciation, retirement, and fixed asset operations. Familiarity with O&G midstream assets or capital‑heavy industries is very helpful. You should be comfortable working within Excel templates and capable of moving between tasks and priorities while staying organized and accurate. A strong communicator who partners naturally with project teams will thrive here.
Who You’ll Work Well With
This environment suits a Fixed Asset Accountant who can easily pivot between tasks, communicate clearly, and bring structure to a busy workflow. You’ll do well here if you can stay steady during close, collaborate comfortably across teams, and bring a thoughtful approach to both big-picture and detail-level work.
What It’s Like To Work Here
As a Fixed Asset Accountant, you’ll join a team that’s warm, professional, and supportive. The dress code is business casual, and the environment is a traditional office setting with a hybrid schedule.

What You’ll Be Doing
This Fixed Asset Accountant role plays a major part in our monthly close process and the lifecycle of our capital assets.
- Moving Projects Into Assets Each Month
- You’ll be the first to see projects and services roll in through Oracle. From there, you’ll review costs, confirm the right asset classification, and reach out to project managers whenever information needs clarification. You’ll help ensure assets move cleanly from project status into fixed assets each month.
- Retiring Assets
- You’ll process retirements so assets come off the books accurately and on time. You’ll review documentation, confirm details, and help keep our records clean and current.
- Month-End Close for Fixed Assets
- You’ll handle one of the very first steps in the monthly close process. This includes maintaining the Fixed Assets module, preparing and posting journals, and reconciling activity. If you enjoy being the person who sets up a smooth close for the whole team, this will be a rewarding part of the role.
