Key Responsibilities of the Director of Finance
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals.
- Manage organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, annual audits, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Partner with executive leadership to strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and enhance financial reporting.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and financial performance.
- Strong accounting background with demonstrated experience overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger operations.
- Previous experience managing and developing accounting or finance teams.
- Healthcare or nonprofit experience preferred, but candidates from other complex accounting environments will be considered.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work through complex accounting matters.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
