What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Direct the organization’s financial function, including accounting oversight, reporting, and planning activities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP standards
- Lead close cycles, maintain account integrity, and deliver insightful financial analysis
- Guide budgeting and forecasting processes, offering recommendations to support growth and profitability
- Establish meaningful metrics and dashboards to help leadership track performance
- Act as a strategic partner to ownership on financial direction and long-term planning
- Oversee and develop a small team responsible for transactional accounting functions
- Manage payroll and serve as the point person for HR operations, including benefits, employee relations, and hiring support
- Coordinate with external partners such as auditors, tax advisors, and consultants
- Introduce and refine systems, workflows, and internal controls to support scalability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles (preferably out of manufacturing industry)
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong command of GAAP and accrual-based accounting practices
- Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, small/growing business capacity across all areas of accounting
- Exposure to HR responsibilities such as payroll, benefits, or employee support is a plus
- CPA is a plus but not required
- Background in smaller or entrepreneurial environments preferred
- Strong business acumen, communication skills, and ability to influence decisions
