Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Analysis
- Develop and maintain accurate product costing, including standard and actual costs
- Analyze and report on cost variances (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights
- Monitor and evaluate margins across products and business lines
- Prepare and deliver detailed financial and cost reports to support business decisions
- Assist in month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance explanations
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with a focus on cost drivers and profitability
- Manage and analyze inventory valuation, movements, and reserves
- Understand and track logistics and freight costs impacting overall product cost
- Distinguish and report on purchase price vs. landed cost, ensuring accurate cost allocation
- Partner with operations and leadership to evaluate pricing structures and profitability
- Provide cost data and analysis to support pricing decisions and strategic initiatives
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements across the supply chain
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or distribution environments
- Strong understanding of margins, variance analysis, and cost reporting
- Experience with inventory accounting, logistics costs, and pricing structures
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
