Key Responsibilities
Audit Leadership & CPA Firm Coordination (Primary Focus)
- Serve as the main point of contact between the company and the external CPA firm
- Lead audit preparation efforts, including gathering and organizing required documentation
- Pull financial reports and supporting data from accounting systems
- Respond to auditor requests and ensure timely follow-up
- Assist in establishing processes and workflows for a first-year audit engagement
- Prepare audit schedules and ad hoc financial reports
- Utilize Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) to analyze and present data
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records during audit review
- Oversee and organize accounting communications, including high-volume email management
- Assist with day-to-day accounting priorities as needed during audit cycle
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather required financial information
Required:
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting role with audit exposure
- Strong background supporting or leading audits with external CPA firms
- Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks Online preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs required)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- CPA designation (not required)
- Experience in first-time audit environments
- High-accountability environment with a strong emphasis on punctuality and performance
- Collaborative team with daily communication and leadership interaction
- Casual dress code
