A Holland-based nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations. The organization provides housing and supportive programs for individuals and families in the community. With less than 100 employees, the team values collaboration, community impact, and a relaxed work environment—jeans are perfectly fine there.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review all bookkeeping functions, including journal entries, payroll, and accounts payable
• Review financial statements and ensure accurate reporting across multiple entities
• Manage year-end close processes and set up new fiscal years
• Ensure recurring entries, intercompany billings, and cost allocations are properly handled
• Prepare and review corporate financial reports and assist with annual budgeting
• Coordinate critical reporting deadlines, including audits, Form 990s, solicitation licenses, and government filings
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• 5 years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
• Leadership experience in overseeing financial operations
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  
  

Preferred

• Experience in nonprofit or multi-entity environments
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop and/or Traverse Global
