About The Company And Opportunity

  • Our client is a non-profit organization located in DC looking to inform, educate, and inspire our community!
  • Due to growth, they are hiring a Controller to work hybrid!
  • The leadership team is dedicated to employee success and love to promote from within.
  • Pay: $55-65/hr depending on experience. This position is temporary and 100% in office.

Overview Of The Controller Role

  • Directs and coordinates company financial planning and budget management functions.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
  • Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget.
  • Oversees daily operations of the finance department.
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
  • Works with department managers and staff to develop 5-year and 10-year business plans for the company, goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Directs financial audits and provides recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Provides financial statement reporting and analysis, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Directs month end closings, financial reporting and coordination of audits.

Preferred Qualifications For The Controller

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position
  • Nonprofit experience is helpful but not a must have
  • Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s
  • CPA a plus

Salary : $55 - $65
