Accounting Clerk (AP/AR)

Location: South Bend, IN

Pay: $22-$25/hour

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to support both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can work independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and is looking for a long-term career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Process AP invoices, including 3-way PO matching
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies
• Execute weekly payment runs
• Process customer invoices and apply payments
• Monitor AR aging reports and assist with collections efforts
• Reconcile customer and vendor accounts
• Assist with month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Support audit requests and maintain accurate financial records
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Receiving, and other departments to resolve account discrepancies
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-3 years of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
