Part-Time Accountant

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Pay: $24.04/hour

Schedule: Approx. 20 hours/week – Wednesday & Thursday (full days) and Friday morning

Onsite: Fully onsite

Key Responsibilities

Grant Accounting

• Manage approximately 50 assigned grants
• Review and track dates, expenses, and billing information
  
  

Month-End Close & Invoicing

• Record costs, prepare internal/external invoices (around 20 every other week), and compile management reports
• Support a four-day close and billing cycle
  
  

Sponsor Reporting

• Enter and reconcile data across systems
• Complete assigned checklist tasks
  
  

Budget Support

• Update existing budgets (not creating from scratch)
  
  

Year-End Support

• Assist with audit preparation in mid-November
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (open to recent grads) OR Associate’s degree with a few years of accounting experience
• Comfortable with Word and Adobe Pro
• Willingness to learn — all training provided
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with grants, nonprofits, or governmental accounting
• Understanding of debits/credits and single audit processes
• Familiarity with Workday (a plus, not required)
