What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plasma Engineer position at CFD Research Corporation?
CFD Research has a small team developing computational tools for adaptive kinetic-fluid simulations of plasmas. The candidate will join an established team working multiple research efforts for a diverse set of customers. This position will focus on Plasma technologies and support other development efforts of multiphysic tools.
Current projects involve development of computational models for space weather forecasting, plasma metamaterials, and plasma interactions with liquid and solid surfaces. Candidate will use an understanding of space science and gas discharge physics, physical kinetics and modern computational algorithms to develop software tools for engineers working on plasma technologies.

Requirements
- Candidate must be a Permanent Resident of the United States (preference is for US Citizen)
- Theoretical and Computational Plasma Physics background
- Demonstrated Programming Proficiency in C and other languages
- Advanced Degree in a related STEM discipline
- Good understanding of gas discharge physics, space science and electronics
- Computational electro-magnetic experience is required
- Parallel/HPC and GPU Computing Experience
- C Experience is a plus
- Interest in identifying new application for Plasma Technology is a plus as well
