CFD Research Corporation, a small, but growing, 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join our Security Team in Huntsville, AL. The AFSO will report to the Corporate Facility Security Officer and assist with the management, administration, and coordination of industrial security programs and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. Responsibilities
The Assistant Facility Security Officer will be proactive, organized, and capable of managing sensitive information in a secure and compliant manner. They will interface with all levels of personnel and government management personnel to ensure security compliance with 32 CFR 117 (NISPOM), Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Security Classification Guides.
Essential Functions:
- Administer and coordinate security activities in accordance with company policies and federal regulations for safeguarding National Security Information.
- Implement company Standard Practices and Procedures and visitor control procedures in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
- Maintain facility DISS/NBIS/NISS accounts and participate in upkeep of security software.
- Initiate personnel security clearances and periodic reinvestigations.
- Conduct fingerprint scanning using Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWIFT) system.
- Oversees security technologies at the site. This may include surveillance systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and other security-related technologies.
- Maintains end of day check logs, visitor logs, and access control for collateral rooms and containers.
- Provide security education and training to all employees.
- Perform random Entry/Exit inspections.
- Initiate and review DD254s.
- Participate in security self-assessments and DCSA reviews.
- Support investigations of security incidents and help implement corrective actions.
- Work with customers and security representatives to resolve issues and support classified contracts.
- High School diploma and 2 or more years of experience in Industrial Security or related experience.
- Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
- Must hold an active Secret clearance, Top Secret clearance is preferred.
- High Degree of Professionalism and attention to detail.
- CDSE STEPP FSO Possessing and or Non-Possessing Courses competed.
- Broad level knowledge of security technologies, equipment, and applications.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in writing DD254s.
- Experience with security onboarding of new hires and conducting briefings.
- Knowledge of Foreign Travel Requirements.
