We are expanding in the Tacoma market and are seeking a Branch Manager to lead and grow Certerra’s presence across the South Puget Sound region. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for overseeing branch operations, developing high-performing teams, strengthening client relationships, and driving strategic growth. This role is responsible for day-to-day operations, financial performance, team development, client engagement, and market expansion with a support network to match.Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of technical, operational, and project management staffOversee branch financial performance, including revenue, profitability, WIP/AR management, budgeting, and forecastingEnsure safe, high-quality project delivery in compliance with company standards, approved plans, and applicable codesManage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support efficient operationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with public agencies, contractors, developers, and private-sector clientsIdentify and pursue new business opportunities to expand services and grow backlog in the Tacoma marketSupport proposal development, pricing strategy, scopes of work, and client communicationsCollaborate with leadership across Certerra offices to leverage technical expertise, share resources, and promote cross-sellingUphold a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to regulatory and certification requirementsTrack operational metrics and prepare branch performance reportsFoster a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvementEducation/Qualifications: Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a degree in engineering, geology, construction management, or a related field is preferred.8–10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, or related technical services3–5 years of leadership or management experience with demonstrated P&L responsibilityProven ability to manage personnel, oversee project execution, and coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated success in building client relationships and growing market presenceStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsHighly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven, with the ability to operate both strategically and tacticallyCertifications/Licenses: Preferred certifications include (examples – not all are required)Preferred qualifications include licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) Technical Director. Relevant ICC/WABO certifications: including but not limited to Reinforced Concrete, Proprietary Anchors, Lateral Wood, Structural Masonry, and Structural Steel & Bolting are highly valued as technical knowledge and rare occurrence of meeting client needs. While certifications are not mandatory for the Branch Manager position, familiarity with technical inspection standards and regulatory requirements is essential for effective oversight.
