What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Operations Supervisor position at CEO Inc.?
Event Operations Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC (SouthPark area) Prefer Local Candidates Only
Travel: ~20–30 field events per year (typically 1–3 days each, including occasional weekends)
Role Overview
This is a hybrid field operations role (approx. 20% physical / 80% logistics & coordination) supporting nationwide customer rental events in manufacturing, industrial, university, and corporate environments.
You will be responsible for planning, traveling to, executing, and troubleshooting on-site deployments of communication systems used during plant tours, grand openings, and large-scale facility events.
This is a hands-on operational role within a growing business environment. The position is best suited for someone who enjoys owning logistics, working directly in the field, and managing small event teams rather than leading large enterprise-scale operations.
Success in this role requires someone comfortable working in the field, moving equipment, managing live event logistics, and operating independently in fast-paced environments.
What You Will Do
- Travel nationwide to set up and support on-site rental events
- Personally handle event logistics end-to-end (air, hotel, rental car, shipping equipment to hotels, etc.)
- Transport, stage, and manage equipment cases up to 50 lbs.
- Set up and troubleshoot communication equipment during live events
- Supervise small event teams consisting of approximately 3–4 independent contractor (1099) field staff per event
- Recruit and schedule contractors across the U.S. as needed
- Lead pre-event planning calls with customers to confirm logistics and expectations
- Work directly with customers to execute plant tours, grand openings, and facility events
- Re-engage past customers and support repeat bookings through outbound outreach
- Follow established SOPs to ensure consistent execution across all events
- Independently manage event execution from planning through post-event wrap-up
Field & Physical Requirements (Must Be Comfortable with This)
- Ability to travel 20–30 times per year, often in 1–3-day trips
- Flexibility for early departures, late returns, and occasional weekends
- Ability to lift and move equipment cases up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Comfort working in manufacturing plants, warehouses, outdoor environments, and active job sites
- Ability to stay effective in fast-changing, live event conditions
What Success Looks Like
- Extremely organized with strong follow-through on complex logistics
- Calm and solution-oriented when schedules or plans change in real time
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of personnel—from plant floor teams to senior executives
- Strong customer-facing communication and professional presence
- Able to manage multiple moving parts without losing attention to detail
- Confident supervising contractors and enforcing process adherence in the field
- Reliable, consistent, and able to operate independently while traveling
- Comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on environment where flexibility and adaptability are important
Why This Role Is Unique
- Blend of field execution, logistics coordination, and customer engagement
- High autonomy in managing your own events and travel schedule
- Exposure to manufacturing and corporate environments nationwide
- Every event is different—no repetitive desk-based work
- Direct ownership of customer experience from planning through execution
- Opportunity to grow alongside an expanding business operation
Team & Operational Scope
This role is focused on hands-on event execution and coordination within a lean operational structure. The position manages small contractor-based event teams rather than large-scale departmental or enterprise event organizations.
Candidates coming from highly layered corporate environments or managing very large event organizations may find the scope of this role narrower and more execution-focused than strategic leadership positions.
Compensation
- Bonus opportunity available
- Benefits package includes company match programs and additional standard offerings
Important Fit Consideration
This role requires significant travel flexibility, physical capability, and comfort working in variable field conditions.
Candidates who prefer stable, office-based roles or who are not comfortable with hands-on field work will not be successful in this position.
Additionally, this position is intentionally designed as a hands-on operational role within a growing business environment. Candidates seeking large-team leadership responsibilities or highly strategic enterprise-level event management positions may not find the scope of this role aligned with their long-term expectations.
