Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC, responsible for overseeing all core accounting and financial reporting activities. This role manages the month-end and year-end close processes, prepares and reviews financial statements, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The Financial Controller will supervise accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory-related accounting. Day-to-day responsibilities include budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management and providing timely financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The role also involves partnering with leadership to improve operations, streamline financial processes and support system enhancements that increase accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Qualifications
- Strong Accounting knowledge with hands-on experience in general ledger management and adherence to GAAP.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid Finance background with demonstrated Analytical Skills to interpret data, manage budgets, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems; experience improving financial systems and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience in a controller or senior accounting role, ideally in manufacturing, apparel, or a related industry.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departmets.
