Job Summary
We are looking for a Financial Controller to take full ownership of the day-to-day finance operations of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, and oversight of accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You will be responsible for maintaining clean, reliable financials, ensuring compliance, and building the structure and discipline leadership depends on. You will also lead and develop a team that operates efficiently, communicates clearly, and consistently delivers high-quality work.
This role requires strong strategic and analytical capability, with proven leadership experience. You will serve as a key partner to the Chief Financial Officer, providing accurate financial insight and supporting informed decision-making across the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, reconciliations)
- Ensure accurate, timely month-end close and financial reporting
- Manage cash flow, banking activity, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Own budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
- Identify issues, implement solutions, and streamline accounting processes
- Effectively lead and manage accounting staff
- Analyze business and partner with leadership to support operational and financial decisions
- Participate in vendor and client financial interactions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or Finance leader
- Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting operations
- Strong leadership experience, managing teams and accountability
Preferred Experience:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – active license preferred
- Experience in the construction industry
- Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting systems
- Experience in accounting process optimization and streamlining
- Experience working directly with executive leadership
Competency Requirements:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and laws
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Physical Requirements:
This position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typing, writing, and analyzing data.
