What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wrappers/Packing position at Century Furniture?
Position Summary
This position prepares and packages furniture products that ready for transport and delivery.
Position Details
- Retrieves packing supplies from storage area as needed
- Applies interior packing parts and wrapping to product as directed
- Packs product in carton or crates and prepares for shipping
- Assembles skids for product as necessary
- Ensures carton machine is stocked with cardboard
- Communicates issues as they arise
- Observes plant safety rules at all times
- Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous packing experience a plus
- Previous experience with forklift, or squeeze lift preferred

- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, kneel, walk, stand, and climb on a daily basis
- Must be able to lift/move at least 75 pounds
- Must be able to read a tape measure and use a utility knife
- Must be able to load/unload trucks using squeeze lift, forklift, and/or a lay back machine
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment
