What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sander/Flutter position at Century Furniture?
Position Summary:
Position is responsible for operating flutter sander to ensure a smooth finish on product.
Position Details:
- Uses production schedule to learn which parts need to be run each day
- Reads route card to understand where the sanding needs to be completed on a particular part
- Selects correct size and grit of flutter sand paper for disk
- Moves completed part to the next step in the production process
- Observes plant safety rules
- Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous sanding experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance
