Position Summary:
The Casegoods Finishing Artist is responsible for applying artistic paint, stain, and specialty finishing techniques to wood furniture components and completed product. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and an understanding of color, texture, and furniture aesthetics.
Essential Duties:
- Apply a variety of finishes, including stains, paints, glazes, washes, distressing, shading, toning, and specialty artistic effects.
- Mix and match colors accurately to achieve requested finish samples and production standards.
- Use sprayers, brushes, pads, and hand tools to achieve desired artistic effects.
- Follow detailed finish formulas, recipes, and sample boards.
- Inspect pieces for quality, consistency, and finish integrity throughout the process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
- Meet daily production and quality targets while reducing rework and waste.
Position Requirements:
- Prior experience in furniture finishing, cabinet finishing, or artistic paint application preferred.
- Strong artistic eye for color, blending, shading, and detail work.
- Ability to read and follow finish shop instructions, formulas, and sample boards.
- Comfortable using spray equipment, brushes, glazes, and other finishing materials.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift furniture components throughout the shift.
- Commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork.
