What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at Centurion Selection?
We are currently working with a General Contractor who specialise in ground up Multifamily projects in their search for a Superintendent. This role ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and contractual requirements. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, working closely with subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders to maintain an efficient and organized job site.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Oversight
- Oversee daily job-site operations, ensuring adherence to construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality execution of work.
- Review drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes to identify conflicts and resolve field issues.
- Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, sequencing, and look-ahead planning.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all site safety policies and OSHA requirements; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, permitting requirements, and local Fort Myers/Lee County regulations.
Quality Control
- Maintain strict quality-control standards throughout all phases of construction.
- Conduct regular inspections and walk-throughs to verify workmanship and correct deficiencies.
- Collaborate with project managers and architects during punch lists and close-out.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors, owners, inspectors, and consultants.
- Provide daily reporting, including logs, progress photos, weather impacts, manpower tracking, and schedule updates.
- Attend and lead on-site meetings as needed.
Scheduling & Logistics
- Develop and coordinate site logistics plans including deliveries, staging areas, traffic flow, and parking.
- Ensure materials arrive on time and are stored safely and efficiently.
- Proactively identify schedule risks and recommend corrective actions.
Project Close-Out
- Manage commissioning, inspections, and turnover procedures for multifamily units and common spaces.
- Oversee punch lists to ensure timely completion.
- Assist in collecting and organizing warranties, as-builts, and close-out documents.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in multifamily, commercial, or residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and Florida-specific regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple trades and maintain schedule discipline.
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Buildertrend).
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain quickly).
- Valid driver’s license.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
