Job Title: Project Superintendent – Podium Construction
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Salary: Up to $190,000/year (base, depending on experience benefits)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Superintendent to lead the on-site execution of a large-scale podium-style residential/mixed-use construction project in the Carlsbad area. The Superintendent will be responsible for all field operations, safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor coordination from pre-construction mobilization through project completion.
This role requires a strong leader with extensive podium/multifamily construction experience, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities for the podium project.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily field operations to meet project milestones.
- Supervise and direct subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and site personnel.
- Enforce all jobsite safety programs, company policies, and OSHA requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to maintain and update project schedules, look-ahead plans, and sequencing.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, and local inspectors.
- Conduct regular site walks, safety meetings, and quality inspections.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and field documentation.
- Proactively identify and resolve field issues impacting schedule, cost, or quality.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of commercial construction experience, with significant podium and multifamily project exposure.
- Proven experience as a Project Superintendent on large, complex projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore) and standard office tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site in Carlsbad, CA.
