A well-established building envelope and glazing contractor serving the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. market is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team. This is a high-impact role within a company that has built a strong regional reputation for quality and precision across commercial glazing projects. The right candidate will bring deep estimating expertise and a collaborative mindset to a team that values craftsmanship and professionalism.

We are seeking an Estimator who can produce accurate material take‑offs, cost estimates, and bid documentation while supporting project managers with handoff materials. This role is ideal for an estimator who is confident pricing projects up to $5M, is disciplined in their approach, and enjoys mentoring assistant estimators as part of a collaborative team.

About the Role

Estimator – Building Envelope & Glazing (MD/VA/DC)

What you will be doing

• Empower and mentor assistant estimators in their professional development.
• Prepare accurate material take‑offs, organize specifications, and develop complete bid packages.
• Compute costs by analysing labour, materials, and time requirements.
• Prepare project cost estimates, proposals, and substitution requests for value‑engineering.
• Track ongoing and past bids, ensuring organised documentation and strong market positioning.
• Collaborate with your supervisor on quotes and ensure correct distribution to clients.
• Attend pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and association/networking events as scheduled.
• Support Project Managers with job handoff documentation and scope reviews.
• Maintain strong working relationships with vendors, suppliers, clients, and potential clients.
• Track awarded vs. estimated costs to improve future estimating accuracy.
• Ensure company Safety and Quality Control standards are upheld at all times.

Preferred Qualifications

• Four‑year degree in a construction‑related field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of glazing/building envelope estimating experience (mid‑level candidates with strong capability will also be considered).
• Strong understanding of construction terminology and glazing/building envelope subcontractor duties.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and train team members.
• High functional ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proven success managing multiple estimates across various stages.
• Experience with solicitation, negotiation, award, and subcontract management.
• Understanding of scheduling logic and constraints.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across MD, VA, and D.C.
