Job Summary
The RN – PACU Manager is a working manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role ensures high-quality patient care while managing staff, resources, and departmental operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee staffing assignments in accordance with department objectives and policies to ensure effective coverage and maintain productivity targets.
- Review and approve personnel performance appraisals, including establishing goals for each employee.
- Regularly review and revise departmental manuals, policies/procedures, standing orders, and protocols with input from appropriate stakeholders.
- Monitor the condition of facilities and take corrective actions to resolve existing or potential problems.
- Participate in Process Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Support management decisions by acting as a change agent through role modeling.
- Maintain current professional growth through independent study and continuing education programs.
- Participate in budget management and inventory control.
- Engage in staff development and self-development activities.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Licensure: Active RN license in the state of Texas
- Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience: Previous PACU or critical care experience.
