Schedule: Monday Friday | 8-Hour Day Shifts

We are seeking an experienced Retail Pharmacist for an 8-week contract position in Alturas, California. The pharmacist will support retail pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, prescription review, patient counseling, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and oversight of pharmacy support staff.

This role requires an active California Pharmacist license, strong knowledge of retail pharmacy regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, pharmacy technicians, interns, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

• Review, compound, and dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceuticals accurately and safely.

• Counsel patients regarding medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.

• Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and other pharmacy personnel while maintaining appropriate staffing ratios and workflow.

• Maintain controlled-substance security, medication inventory, quality assurance, pharmacy records, and regulatory compliance.

• Resolve third-party prescription issues and collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to support safe and effective medication therapy.

• Active California Pharmacist License Required.

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD From an ACPE-Accredited Pharmacy Program Required.

• Minimum 3 Years of Pharmacist Experience Required.

• Current BLS Certification Required.

• Strong Knowledge of Retail Pharmacy Operations, Medication Safety, State and Federal Pharmacy Regulations, Patient Counseling, and Third-Party Prescription Processing Required.

The Retail Pharmacist will provide safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmaceutical services while supporting efficient daily pharmacy operations.
