About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Stepdown Registered Nurse for a 13-week night-shift contract opportunity in Rome, New York. This role supports adult and geriatric medical acute care patients and requires strong stepdown, telemetry, patient monitoring, and clinical documentation skills.
Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric Med Surg stepdown patients
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to care plans
• Manage patient care in a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio setting
• Document patient care accurately using Paragon and Pyxis systems
Requirements
• Active New York Registered Nurse License Required
• Minimum 1–2 years of Stepdown or Telemetry experience required
• BLS, ACLS, And NIHSS Certifications Required
• Adult and geriatric acute care experience preferred
• Must be available for 12-hour night shifts and 13-week assignment
