Duties
- Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that accommodate each student’s unique learning profile and goals
- Implement evidence-based teaching methods to support students with neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disabilities
- Monitor student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to maximize engagement and achievement
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, counselors, and families, to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, maintaining a safe classroom environment at all times
- Support students in developing social skills, independence, and life skills through structured activities and positive reinforcement
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavior incidents, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals from underserved communities or diverse cultural backgrounds is highly valued
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder or ADHD
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification is preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and external professionals
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, understanding, and active participation
